This is the 16th year that Honda has had vehicles on the ACEEE’s green list!

Each year, the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy, or ACEEE, releases a survey of the best and worst environmentally friendly new vehicles on the market. For 2016, Honda has three vehicles on the list; Honda has a proud history of environmental innovation and green cars.

For example, Honda introduced the first hybrid vehicle on the market in 1999, the Honda Insight. You may be looking for a green vehicle because you are a champion of the environment, or you may want a fuel-efficient vehicle. Regardless of why you’re interested in a “green” vehicle, here’s a list of environmentally friendly Honda cars.

Honda Civic Hybrid

The Civic Hybrid is number five on the ACEEE list. The manufacturer made major improvements after hearing some criticism about previous models. For instance, the Civic Hybrid has a 1.5-liter four-cylinder Turbocharged engine and CVT, which replaces the five-speed automatic transmission.

This makes the Civic Hybrid more efficient. There are also new features like a 7-inch touch-screen interface with Smartphone technology and a blind-spot display camera. The things you love about the Civic remain; for example, you have roomy seating, numerous standard features and impressive safety features.

On the list at number nine is the Civic Natural Gas. The Natural Gas is a fuel-efficient alternative to gasoline-powered vehicles. Honda created this vehicle to compete with Toyota’s Prius, Mazda 3 with Skyactiv technology and Volkswagen Jetta TDI.

It comes with a navigation system and five-speed automatic transmission. It also has an expanded driver’s mirror and 7-inch touch-screen audio display. You have the option of having leather-trimmed seating, heated front seats and push-button start.

Honda had one vehicle that was rated on the ACEEE “greener” list. The greener list included vehicles that were the most environmentally friendly in each of their vehicle classes.

The Odyssey was at the top of its class. Forward collision warning, lane departure warning and seating for about eight people are also new features. The best thing about the Odyssey may be its driving capability. Drivers enjoy a minivan that offers a great driving experience. It has 248 horsepower from its 3.5-liter V-6 engine. It handles remarkably well for a large vehicle.
